The New Palestine track teams competed at Friday’s 10-team Zionsville Invitational.
The Dragon girls finished eighth with 32 points, while the boys placed ninth with 14 points. Floyd Central’s girls (95.5) and Brownsburg’s boys (126) won their respective meets.
For the Dragon boys, Richard Clevenger finished fifth in the discus (142-7). Nick Bastian finished sixth in the 100 (11.16) and long jump (20-6.75). Tucker Keevers was ninth in shot put. The Dragons also finished eighth in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
For the Dragon girls, Brenna Shaw was third in the 1600 (5:32.81) and Sydney Miller third in discus (115-6). Kendall Mann finished sixth in the 3200 (11:46.99). Faith Hensel was sixth in shot put (35-0.5), while Anna Ackerman was sixth in the pole vault (9-6). Lexi Baynes finished eighth in the 400 (1:03.53). The Dragons were second in the 4×800 relay and seventh in the 4×400.
The Dragons next compete Wednesday in the Hancock County meet at Mt. Vernon.
