Girls Varsity Softball · Softball moves to 2-0 with victory at Lebanon

The 4A No. 5 New Palestine softball team improved to 2-o on the season Tuesday with a 20-2 five-inning rout at Lebanon.

The Dragons scored in each of the game’s five innings, tallying three runs in the opening frame, before adding on five and seven in the next two innings to go up 15-0.

Kendal Calvert led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and six RBI. Lexi Campbell was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. Vivian Long also hit a three-run homer. Aglaia Rudd was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Sydney Oliver was 2-for-4 with four runs scored. Kinsey Mitchell was also 2-for-2 with four runs. Alexa Holman was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Grace Paquette was 2-for-2 with four runs scored and two RBI.

Holman pitched three innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs to pick up her first varsity victory, She struck out eight. Katie Kottlowski pitched two no-hit innings to finish the contest.

The Dragons next play April 7 against Avon.
