Girls Varsity Gymnastics · Gymnasts down Lapel in home finale


The New Palestine gymnastics team won a close 100.75-99.9 decision Saturday at home against Lapel.

It was the Dragons’ home finale and a day to honor seniors Emma Poag and Addie Halter, as well as senior manager Brendan Tabor.

On vault, Kennedy Garrett won with a 9.25. Maliah Ringham finished fifth (8.5) and Alyse Rickey sixth (8.45).

On uneven bars, Garrett finished second (8.3), Rickey third (8.05) and Poag fifth (6.95).

On balance beam, Garrett finished second (8.6), Rickey third (8.3), Addy Kendall fifth (8.2) and Poag sixth (7.95).

On floor exercise, Garrett was third (8.65), Kendall fourth (8.5) and Poag fifth (8.2).

Garrett finished second in the all-around with a score of 34.8. Kendall was third (32.75) and Poag sixth (31.5).

The gymnasts close the regular season Tuesday at Shelbyville.
