The New Palestine girls basketball team dropped a 55-27 game Saturday at Hamilton Southeastern.

The Dragons fell behind 13-3 after a quarter and 28-13 at halftime to the state’s seventh-ranked team.

Anna Ackerman scored five fourth-quarter points to lead the Dragons with seven. Koryn Marshall tallied six points off the bench, all from the free throw line. Isabella Gizzi scored five points. Whitney Miller scored four, Addi Jones three and Faith Hensel two.

The Dragons won the JV game 44-40.

The contest began a four-game road swing for the Dragons, which continues Tuesday at Triton Central.
