The New Palestine girls swim team opened its season Tuesday with a pair of victories in a triangular meet.
The Dragons beat Shelbyville 69-28 and Lawrence Central 65-36.
Adrianna Huston and Sullie Leavell were quadruple-winners for the Dragons. Huston won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Leavell won the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. They teamed with Katelyn Trimpe and Kyleigh Turner to win both the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Trimpe was a triple-winner, as she also won the 100 freestyle.
Finishing second for the Dragons were Turner in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle and Lillie Poag in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 medley relay of Claire Lake, Sarah Kleiman, Anneliese Weilhammer and Rachel Wright also placed second.
Finishing third were Bailey Young in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Bailey Whitaker in the 100 buterfly, Trimpe in the 50 freestyle, Izzy Napier in diving, Emma Buergelin in the 100 backstroke and Kleiman in the 100 breaststroke.
The Dragons (2-0) are back in action Thursday at Greenwood in a triangular meet with Roncalli.
