Girls Varsity Gymnastics · Gymnasts win Rushville Invitational

The New Palestine gymnastics team won the Rushville Invitational Saturday, tallying a score of 101.15 points.

The Dragons won the title for the ninth consecutive year.

NP swept the top three in the all-around, with Grace Shanahan scoring 34.425, Kennedy Garrett 34.15 and Emma Poag 34.35. Addie Halter was fifth (32.075).

The Dragons swept five of the top six spots on floor, with Shanahan winning with a 9.4. Garrett (9.35) and Halter (8.875) finished second and third. Poag (8.45) and Audrey O’Dell (8.4) finished fifth and sixth.

Shanahan (9.1), Garrett (8.725) and Halter (8.3) swept the top three spots on beam, with Emma Poag (8.0) finishing fifth and Emily Hunter (7.475) sixth.

On bars, Garrett finished second (7.475) and Poag third (7.45). Shanahan was fifth (7.3) and Halter sixth.

On vault, Shanahan (8.65) finished second and Garrett (8.6) third. Poag (8.45) was fifth and Halter (8.4) sixth.
