The New Palestine girls basketball team rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to beat Yorktown 50-42.
The Dragons outscored the host Tigers 17-6 in the final quarter to seize the victory.
Trailing 36-33 going into the final eight minutes, Michaela Jones opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer to tie the game. The Dragons then seized the lead, as both Jones and Jordan Reid scored five points each in the final frame. Addi Jones and Isabella Gizzi scored fourth-quarter baskets and Grace Marshall hit three free throws to help seal the game.
The Dragons trailed 12-7 after a quarter and 22-19 at halftime. A 14-point third quarter helped keep the Dragons close, with Reid scoring six points in the frame and Michaela Jones draining a 3-pointer.
Reid led the way with 17 points. Marshall and Michaela Jones scored 13 points each. Addi Jones scored three. Gizzi and Faith Hensel each tallied two points.
The Dragons are now 12-4 on the season and 5-1 in HHC play, a mark guaranteeing the Dragons of at least a top-two finish in the conference for the third consecutive year. The Dragons are back in action Tuesday at Fishers.
