Karen Shriver won the Hoosier Heritage Conference girls diving title and Colin Stacey finished as the runner-up in boys diving, leading the New Palestine swimming and diving team at the HHC meet.
The Dragon boys finished sixth with 175 points. The NP girls were seventh with 145.
Shriver won with a score of 351.25, finishing 37.9 points ahead of the runner-up. She broke the NPHS school record in the process. Stacey was second to Delta’s Sam Bennett, with Stacey scoring 438.55.
Jack Schwartz was fourth in the 50 freestyle for the Dragon boys, finishing in 23.91. He also finished fourth in the 100 free (52.81).
The Dragons’ other top finishes came from the 400 free relays, which both finished fifth. The Dragons’ girls quartet of Katelyn Trimpe, Bailey Young, Moriah Corey and Kayleigh Wright posted a time of 4:19.14. The boys team of Ben Miesse, Quincy Shirk, Damon Estes and Schwartz swam 3:41.33. The girls 200 free relay team of Wright, Corey, Arielle Poynter and Trimpe finished sixth. The boys 200 free relay team of Miesse, Chase Martin, Estes and Schwartz also finished sixth.
