The New Palestine volleyball team swept Shelbyville in three close sets Tuesday, with the Dragons winning 31-29, 25-23, 25-20 at Garrett Gymnasium.
Kaelyn Armstrong had a big night for the Dragons, posting a double-double with 21 digs and 11 kills. Grace Myers added 27 digs. Reagan Kleiman had eight key kills and three blocks. Jesi Hall had 11 kills. Sarah Adam added 33 assists and nine digs, while Reina Amones had 12 digs.
“It feels really good to get a conference win,” Dragons coach Kelli Whitaker said. “The HHC is so tough. We battled to win the first set. I’m proud of the mental toughness and consistency they showed at the end of the match. We never really looked back after that. Kaelyn really stepped up on defense tonight and our freshman, Reagan, had some monster kills at the net.”
The Dragons are back in action Thursday at home for senior night against Mt. Vernon.
