The New Palestine girls cross country team repeated as Hoosier Heritage Conference champion Saturday, placing four runners in the top 10.
Brenna Shaw won the individual title, leading the Dragons to an overall victory. NP tallied 36 places, beating Pendleton Heights, which had 58. Yorktown was third with 85 places.
Shaw ran the 5K course at Pendleton Heights in 19:04.97, winning the title by 10.12 seconds. Emma Mann was fourth in 19:47.68. Kaylin Casner finished seventh (20:01.07) and Kendall Mann 10th (20:31.05). Emily Adam finished 18th (21:24.43).
The Dragon boys placed fifth with 108 places. Mt. Vernon (46) won the title over Pendleton Heights (62) and Greenfield-Central (77).
Devon Whitaker was All-Conference with a sixth-place finish. He ran 17:10.30. Colin Darley was also All-HHC, finishing 12th (17:35.63). Carson Sams placed 25th, Josh Ackerman 29th and Hayden Isaacs 36th.
The Dragons next compete Oct. 12 in the sectional at Mt. Vernon.
