The New Palestine volleyball team had a strong performance Tuesday in a three-set 25-13, 25-14, 25-11 loss at Yorktown.

The Dragons, facing the two-time defending state champions, had a big defensive effort. Grace Myers had 16 digs. Kaelyn Armstrong had nine digs. Reina Amones and Rachel Popp had eight digs each, while Sarah Adam had six.

“Even though the score doesn’t show it, we played one of our better defensive games tonight,” NP coach Kelli Whitaker said. “Yorktown is phenomenal and we battled the whole time. I’m proud of the effort and attitude tonight.”

The Dragon JV fell in two sets.

The Dragons are back in action Thursday at home against Triton Central.

Grace Myers led a strong defensive effort with nine digs.
