New Palestine senior Annaliese Fox clinched a return visit to the IHSAA State Finals, shooting a 73 in Saturday’s Lapel regional.
Fox shot 39 on the front nine and 34 on the back in the regional, held at Edgewood Golf Course in Anderson. She finished tied for fourth overall, five strokes behind regional champion Yanah Rolston of Heritage Christian.
Fox will compete at the IHSAA State Finals for the third time in her four-year career. She advanced as the third-highest score among players from a non-advancing team. The top five players from that category move on to the State Finals.
As a team, the Dragons finished ninth in the 18-team event with a 362. Izzy Gray shot 86, Megan Diller 95 and Rachel Purnell 108. Columbus North won with a 318. Noblesville (324) and Lapel (325) also advanced to the State Finals.
