The New Palestine volleyball team dropped a 25-11, 25-3, 25-18 decision Thursday to 4A No. 1 New Castle.
Reagan Kleiman had six kills to lead the attack, doing so on eight attempts. Kaelyn Armstrong had five kills, while Kennedy Stephenson had two blocks.
“They are No. 1 in the state for a reason,” Dragons coach Kelli Whitaker said. “I thought we played well at times. Early in the match we were able to string some points together but couldn’t get out of a couple rotations and that killed us. I’m proud of the way we played in set 3. The girls showed a lot of resiliency and heart.”
The Dragons are next in action Saturday, when they host the New Palestine Invitational.
