The New Palestine girls soccer team traveled to play a tough Franklin Central team Saturday morning, with the Dragons falling 3-2 in a back-and-forth game.
After conceding the first goal, the Dragons got the equalizer when Anna Luker found Maddy Miller for a goal. NP then appeared to answer, but the apparent goal was disallowed.
FC again scored late in the half and the two teams played evenly in the second half. With 10 minutes left, Miller took a feed from Addie Halter and beat the keeper with a fantastic shot for her second goal of the game. FC then scored late to take the 3-2 lead.
“We played hard against a great Flashes team,” NP coach Erin Clark said. “They battled through some adversity, kept their heads in the game and battled until the last second.
The Dragons next play Wednesday night at Mt. Vernon, with the JV half beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity match.
