Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball drops season opener

The New Palestine volleyball team dropped its season opener Saturday, falling 25-17, 18-25, 25-17, 25-23 to visiting Scecina.

Jesi Hall had 11 kills and four blocks to lead the Dragons at the net. Grace Myers had 19 digs, while Sarah Adam had 32 assists.

“Tough match for us today,” Dragons coach Kelli Whitaker said. “We self imploded with 23 hitting errors. Scecina is much improved and their outside hitters were very hard to stop. We definitely have a lot of room for improvement. We will figure it out.”

The Dragons won the JV and C-team matches in two sets each.

The Dragons are next in action Monday at Connersville.
