Girls Varsity Tennis · Tennis falls to Fishers


The New Palestine girls tennis team fell in Monday’s Senior Day match 5-0 to visiting Fishers.

At No. 1 singles, Megan Long fell 6-1, 6-2 to the state’s No. 6 player. Josee King fell 6-2, 6-1 and Claire Cherry 6-1, 6-3. At doubles, Sheridan Schrowe/Ashley Truman dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision, while Caylie Almond/Eliza Adams fell 6-1, 6-1.

The Dragon JV won 3-2. Abby Blachly, Carley Dragoo and Leah Seib/Annelise Masshardt all won.

The Dragons open sectional play Wednesday at Mt. Vernon against Pendleton Heights.
