New Palestine High School has named Erin Clark its varsity girls soccer coach.
Clark’s hiring was made official at Monday’s school board meeting.
She comes to NPHS after six years coaching at Greenfield-Central, where she led the Cougars to a 53-39-4 record and a sectional championship in 2016. Over the last three seasons, G-C was 36-11-2 under her leadership, including 12-3 last season.
Clark is returning to her alma mater. She graduated from NPHS in 1996, where she was a standout player on the boys soccer team, as the Dragons’ girls soccer program had not yet begun. Clark played four seasons at the University of Indianapolis, where she was a two-time Academic All-American.
She takes over a program at NPHS that has won back-to-back sectional titles in Class 2A and was a regional finalist in 2018. The Dragons will move up to Class 3A, the top enrollment class, for the 2019 season.
