The New Palestine tennis team swept Pendleton Heights 5-0 Friday, improving to 10-2 on the season and 6-0 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.

At singles, No. 1 Megan Long and No. 3 Caylie Almond both won 6-3, 6-1. At No. 2, Nicole Wernimont won 6-0, 6-7(7), 10-1 in a super-tiebreaker.

At doubles, Claire Cherry/Josee King won 6-1, 6-0, while Sheridan Schrowe/Ashley Truman won 6-0, 6-2.

The Dragons also won the JV match 5-0, with Abby Blachly, Carley Dragoo, Payton Mittman, Briette Basaran/Megan Reed and Leah Seib/Annelise Masshardt all winning and the Dragons dropping just four games.

The Dragons will play for the HHC title at 2 p.m. Saturday at Delta.
