The New Palestine tennis team played an inspired match Wednesday on the road at Yorktown, beating the Tigers 3-2.

The Dragons had three straight-set victories. Megan Long won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Eliza Adams won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. At No. 2 doubles, Sheridan Schrowe/Ashley Truman won 6-2, 7-5 to clinch the match.

At No. 2 singles, Nicole Wernimont dropped a super-tiebreaker 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-6. NP also fell at No. 1 doubles.

The Dragon JV won 4-1. Caylie Almond, Abby Blachly and Carley Dragoo won in singles, dropping a total of two games. Annelise Masshardt/Lucy Miller also won in doubles.

The Dragons are next in action Friday at Pendleton Heights.

Sheridan Schrowe and Ashley Truman clinched the match for the Dragons at No. 2 doubles.
