The New Palestine baseball team dropped a 16-3 decision Wednesday to Bloomington North.

The Dragons used five pitchers, four of which were making their first varsity outings of the season on the mound, against a talented Cougar squad ranked fifth in the state by Prep Baseball Report.

The visiting Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the first and a 5-0 lead in the third. The Cougars added four more runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth – the latter on three hits.

Zach Neligh led the Dragons with two hits. He also scored a run. Zaiden Stiller had an RBI single and Grant Hickman also had a hit for the Dragons. Eric Roudebush also had an RBI.

The Dragons (11-10) are back in action Friday at Pendleton Heights.
