The New Palestine golf team finished second in a triangular match Wednesday at The Links.
The Dragons shot 174 on their home course, falling to Columbus North (162). NP beat Shelbyville, which shot 196.
Josh Shinkle led the Dragons with a 42. Matt Kelley shot a 43. Quinn Dobbins added a 44. Chris Guhl and Matthew Barada each shot 45s.
“We had a great night to play and let this slip away from us,” NP coach Gregg Greene said. “It was our first match at home in a month and we just made too many mistakes. Josh played solid golf and so did Matt after getting off to a bad start. Quinn really had one bad hole but it cost him dearly. We have to a couple days to fix things before HHC on Saturday.”
