The New Palestine girls tennis team finished as the runner-up in Monday’s Hancock County tournament, with the No. 1 doubles team of Claire Cherry/Josee King winning the individual county title.
Cherry/King won both of their matches in straight sets.
Megan Long, Caylie Almond and Ashley Truman/Sheridan Schrowe were runners-up at their respective positions.
NP finished second with 18 points. Mt. Vernon tallied 31, Greenfield-Central eight and Eastern Hancock three.
The Dragons won the JV championship. Eliza Adams, Abby Blachly and Leah Seib/Lucy Miller won their respective individual titles.
