Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Track teams sweep Falcons in last event

The New Palestine track teams both went down to the last event – the 4×400 relay – Tuesday to clinch victories over Perry Meridian.

The Dragon boys won 68-63 when Josh Collins, Carson Sams, Dylan Harsin and Drew Austin won the 4×400 relay.

The Dragons won 10 events in the meet. Ryker Large won the 100 and 200. Sams clinched the 400. Collins won the 800, Austin the 1600 and Kyler Harrison the 3200. Spencer Worth won the pole vault and Christian Rudolph the 110 hurdles.

The 4×800 team of Collins, Owen Kleine, Sams and Devon Whitaker also begn the meet with a victory.

The Dragon girls also won 71-61 with the win clinched when Sophia Taylor, Maigan Williams, Kaylin Casner and Jordan Reid won the 4×400 relay.

The Dragons won nine events, including all three relays. Maya Hobbs, Addie Halter, Taylor Kelley and Reid won the 4×100. Emma Mann, Emily Adam, Megan Collins and Grace Voelz won the 4×800.

Individual winners were Casner in the 800 and 1600, Aden Lumbley in the shot put and discus, Williams in the 300 hurdles and Kendall Mann in the 3200.

Kaylin Casner won three events at Perry Meridian.
Josh Collins was a three-event winner Tuesday at Perry Meridian.
Carson Sams won three events Tuesday.
