Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Track teams stay perfect with sweep at Rushville

The New Palestine boys and girls track teams both remained unbeaten on the season Thursday with dual meet victories at Rushville.

Both teams are now 5-0 on the season.

The Dragon boys won 77-55.

Ryker Large and Richard Clevenger each won two individual events. Large won the 100 and 200, while Clevenger won the discus and shot put. Josh Ackerman won the 800, Nick Bastian the long jump, Kyler Harrison the 3200, Laine Schonauer the high jump and Spencer Worth the pole vault.

The Dragons also swept the relays. Large, Blake Austin, Michael Hughes and Charlie Spegal won the 4×100. Dylan Harsin, Hughes, Drew Austin and Schonauer won the 4×400. Josh Collins, Owen Kleine, Carson Sams and Devon Whitaker won the 4×800.

The Dragon girls won 77-52.

Aden Lumbley was a double-winner with victories in the shot put and discus. Anna Ackerman won the pole vault, Kennedy Stephenson the long jump and Jordan Reid the 100.

The Dragons swept the relays. Maya Hobbs, Taylor Kelley, Megan Bell and Stephenson won the 4×100. Sophia Taylor, Hobbs, Maigan Williams and Reid won the 4×400. Grace Voelz, Emma Mann, Emily Adam and Kaylin Casner won the 4×800.

The track teams are back in action Friday at the Franklin Central Showcase.
