Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys swimmers split triangular meet


The New Palestine boys swim team split Monday’s triple-dual meet with Hagerstown and Pendleton Heights. The Dragons beat Hagerstown 111-53 and lost to PH 98-74.

The Dragons had three winners – Marlon Cabrera in the 200 IM, Tyler Corey in the 50 freestyle and Colin Stacey in diving. Austin Lines was second in diving.

Corey and Ben Miesse were second and third in the 100 butterfly. Jack Schwartz was third in the 100 freestyle. Anthony Stultz was third in the 100 backstroke.

Also finishing as runners-up were the 200 medley relay team of Cabrera, Chase Siler, Corey and Schwartz; the 200 free relay team of Siler, Kyle Ellis, Miesse and Jaxson England; and the 400 free relay team of Corey, Schwartz, Cabrera and Estes.

The Dragons next compete in the sectional Feb. 14 and 16 at NPHS.

Marlon Cabrera won the 200 IM Monday.
