Multiple Teams · Swimmers compete at HHC meet


The New Palestine swim teams competed at Saturday’s Hoosier Heritage Conference meet. NP’s girls finished seventh with 154 points, while the Dragon boys were also seventh with 173 points.

Jessica Rogers had the Dragons’ highest finish of the day, finishing third in the 100 freestyle. She was also fifth in the 50 freestyle, Karen Shriver was fourth in diving, giving NP three top-eight individual finishes. The 400 free relay of Rogers, Maria Virt, Bailey Young and Cassy Moorman was fourth, the highest-placing relay for the Dragons.

For the Dragon boys, Tyler Corey had two top-eight finishes, placing fourth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 freestyle. Austin Lines was fifth in diving.

The Dragons next compete Tuesday at home against Beech Grove.
