The New Palestine girls basketball team had its biggest offensive night since 2001 Tuesday, beating host Shelbyville 85-49 at Garrett Gymnasium.
The 85 points were the most scored since the Dragons scored 86 against Evansville Harrison Nov. 23, 2001.
NP outscored the host Bears 27-10 in the opening quarter and opened up a 43-20 lead at half. A 22-point third quarter extended the edge to 65-35 heading into the final eight minutes.
Four Dragons scored in double figures. Leah Seib scored 24 points, tallying 20 in the opening half. Haley Harrison drained five 3-pointers en route to a 21-point game. Megan Jolly added 16 points. Katie Herron had 13. Avery Biggs scored three points. Addi Jones, Michaela Jones, Tatum Biddle and Faith Hensel scored two each.
The Dragons are now 9-1 overall and 3-0 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play. They next play at 6 p.m. Friday at Greenfield-Central.
