New Palestine sophomore Brenna Shaw has clinched a spot in the IHSAA cross country State Finals, finishing 15th at Saturday’s Shelbyville semistate.

The top six teams and top 10 individuals from non-advancing teams from each semistate move on to the State Finals, which will be held next Saturday at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute.

The Dragon girls finished seventh with 186 places, 18 places shy of advancing to the State Finals as a team. NP tallied 186 places and won a tiebreaker with Ritter for seventh place in the 20-team event.
