Boys Varsity Tennis · Boys tennis falls to Richmond

The New Palestine boys tennis team had a strong match Monday against No. 29 Richmond in a battle of teams ranked in District 4.

The visiting Red Devils beat NP 5-0.

Matthew True had the longest and most competitive match of the evening, falling 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

At No. 2, Carson Gavin had outstanding rallies but fell 6-0, 7-5. Trevor Darley dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 3.

At doubles, Dane Reid/Ben Blachly fell 6-3, 6-4, while Jeremy Wagoner/Ethan Haeberle fell 7-5, 6-0.

The Dragon JV won 8-1.

The Dragons (12-3) are back home Tuesday to face Mt. Vernon on Senior Night in their final HHC match of the season.
