Boys Varsity Tennis · Boys tennis posts third straight sweep

The New Palestine boys tennis won its third match in as many days by a 5-0 score Thursday, beating Triton Central.

All three wins have been 5-0 triumphs. Thursday’s win came against the Shelby County champions.

Matthew True won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Carson Gavin won 6-2, 6-2 and Trevor Darley fought hard to win 6-4, 6-3.

At doubles, Dane Reid/Ben Blachly were in control throughout a 6-0, 6-1 win. Ezra Schwier/Devon Bird rallied to win 6-4, 6-2 in their first varsity match as a duo.

The Dragon JV also won all 11 of its matches.

The Dragons will next be in action at 9 a.m. Saturday, when they host the Hancock County tournament at the NPHS courts.
