Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball falls in four sets at Franklin


The New Palestine volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, falling in four sets on the road to a strong Franklin team.

The Dragons took the second set, but fell 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Sydney Robertson had seven digs and 25 assists to quarterback the offense. Lydia Jones had a team-high 11 kills. Kaelyn Armstrong had eight kills.

Rylie Sturgeon had 11 digs and three aces to lead the defense. Audrey VanderWal had eight digs. Grace Myers had three digs. Reina Amones had three aces.

The Dragon JV also dropped a tight 25-24, 21-25, 15-11 decision. The freshman team hosted Chatard and fell in three tight sets 16-25, 25-22, 15-14.

The Dragon varsity is now 3-1 on the season. The next varsity/JV match is 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hauser.
