Gavin Hausz and Drew Austin both had strong performances at Saturday’s IHSAA State Finals in Bloomington.
Hausz, a regional champion in the high jump, equaled his regional height and career best of 6-foot-4. He finished 19th, clearing the height on his final jump. In the event, state champion Nate Patterson of Plymouth cleared a state-record 7-4.
Austin finished 22nd in the 1600 meters, running a time of 4:28.99, his second-best time.
