Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Girls track wins triangular meet

The New Palestine girls track team won 11 events Tuesday en route to a three-way victory over Roncalli and Franklin Central at Kelso Stadium.

The Dragons tallied 71 points to beat Roncalli (53) and FC (22). The Dragon boys finished third in their meet, a close battle with FC (58) and Roncalli (54). NP tallied 43 points.

Kaylin Casner won two individual events for the Dragon girls, sweeping the 800 and 1600. The Dragons had six other individual winners, as Addy Halter won the 100, Olivia McKilligin the 200, Victoria Crowder the 400, Kendall Mann the 3200, Morgan Willard the high jump and Aden Lumbley the shot put.

NP swept the relays. TeTe Hart, Maigan Williams, McKilligin and Halter won the 4×100. Sophia Taylor, McKilligin, Hannah Taggart and Crowder took the 4×400. Taggart, Haley Rickey, Mann and Crowder kicked off the meet by winning the 4×800.

The Dragon boys had five victories. Drew Austin won the 800, Josh Collins the 3200, Austin Keele the shot put and Spencer Worth the pole vault. The team of Owen Kleine, Connor Dobbins, Conner Kelley and Devon Whitaker won the 4×800.

Tuesday’s contest was the final dual/triangular meet of the year for the Dragons, who next compete Friday at the Zionsville Invitational.
