Girls Varsity Basketball · Trio named All-HHC girls basketball

Three New Palestine juniors were named to the All-Hoosier Heritage Conference girls basketball team Tuesday.

The All-HHC team is chosen by vote of the conference coaches.

Forward Leah Seib finished the regular season as the conference’s leading rebounder and free throw shooter and fourth-leading scorer. She was an All-HHC selection after a season in which she averaged 13.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. Seib hit 84 percent from the line. She also was fifth in the HHC in field goal shooting at 51 percent.

Guard Megan Jolly tallied 9.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, ranking third in the HHC in assists. She also ranked fifth in the conference with 2.4 steals per game, and 10th in the league in scoring.

Guard Haley Harrison tallied 7.9 points and 1.7 assists per contest. She hit 34 percent from 3-point range and ranked fourth in the conference in 3-point shooting during the regular season. Harrison was also the Dragons’ leading scorer in three of their four state tournament games.

In addition, junior guard Tatum Biddle and junior center Katie Herron were both named honorable mention All-HHC.

The Dragons went 18-7 this season, finishing with the second-most wins in school history. NP won the program’s first sectional title since 2004, and also finished third in the HHC with a 5-2 record.

Megan Jolly ranked among the HHC leaders in steals and assists, and was named to the All-HHC team.
