Leah Seib scored a career-high 20 points Tuesday to lead the New Palestine girls basketball team to a 58-41 victory over Lawrence Central.

The victory gives the Dragons a 14-6 record with one game remaining in the regular season – Thursday’s Senior Night game against Ritter.

Seib became the first Dragon to score 20 points in a game this season.

NP gradually pulled ahead to a double-digit lead. Emma Grable’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave the Dragons a 19-13 edge after one, a lead that extended to 32-19 early in the second and 36-25 at the half. Haley Harrison scored 11 of her 13 points in the opening half, including seven in the second quarter.

Seib took over in the third, scoring 10 of the Dragons’ 14 points in the period as the lead grew to 50-32.

In addition to the two double-digit scorers, Grable tallied nine points. Tatum Biddle scored six. Megan Jolly scored four points, while Katie Herron, Michaela Jones and Eliza Adams scored two each. Jones returned to the lineup for the first time since Dec. 12.

The Dragon JV also won 34-32 behind 11 points from Claire Cherry and 10 from Josie Hockett.
