The New Palestine swim teams both finished fifth in the Hoosier Heritage Conference Saturday.
The Dragon boys tallied 208 points to finish fifth, with Greenfield-Central winning with 532. The Dragon girls had 197 points, with champion Pendleton Heights tallying 481.
The NP boys were led by the 400 free relay team of Tyler Corey, Louis Holbrook, Iago Broullon-Blanco and Nico Martin, who finished third.
Broullon-Blanco had two strong individual finishes, placing fourth in the 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 200 IM.
Corey had two top-eight finishes for the Dragon boys, finishing sixth in the 50 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle. Martin was sixth in the 500 freestyle. Holbrook placed seventh in the 200 freestyle. The 200 medley and 200 free relay teams both finished sixth.
The Dragon girls were led by Karen Shriver, who had a third-place finish in Thursday’s diving competition. In the pool, the quartet of Jessica Rogers, Maria Virt, Anna Doolin and Hailee Holberton finished fourth in the 400 free relay. Doolin had a pair of eighth-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Virt was eighth in the 500 freestyle. The 200 medley relay of Virt, Holberton, Rogers and Doolin placed fifth. The 200 medley relay was sixth.
The Dragons are next in the pool Thursday against Scecina.
