The New Palestine girls basketball team dropped a 52-46 decision Monday at Indian Creek.

NP had a solid start, taking a 16-9 lead after a quarter, paced by Haley Harrison’s five points and four each from Megan Jolly and Tatum Biddle.

But Indian Creek outscored the Dragons 17-8 in the second quarter to take a two-point lead at halftime, with Leah Seib scoring six of the Dragons’ eight points in the frame. Katie Herron was strong in the third quarter, scoring eight of the Dragons’ 13 points. The two teams were tied 37-37 after three quarters before the host Braves pulled away late.

Seib led the Dragons with 12 points. Harrison hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points. Herron also tallied 11 points. Biddle and Jolly scored six points each.

Addie Rund led Indian Creek with 26 points.

The Dragon JV also fell 34-29.

The Dragons are now 12-4 on the season. They return home at 6 p.m. Friday to face Pendleton Heights in the first half of a boys-girls doubleheaders. The Dragons will then return to action at 2:20 p.m. Saturday at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum against Triton Central.
