Both New Palestine basketball teams will play at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum Jan. 13 as part of a single-day, six-game extravaganza celebrating Indiana basketball.
The NPHS girls basketball team will meet Triton Central at 2:20 p.m. that day, with the boys basketball team slated to face Mooresville at 4 p.m.
Advance tickets for the day will be $10 and be available in the NPHS athletic office starting in mid-December. Tickets at the door will be $12. All tickets will include admission to all six games. The day will begin at 11 a.m. with a doubleheader between Franklin County and Hagerstown. NP’s girls and boys will play the third and fourth games of the day. Martinsville faces Guerin Catholic and Scecina meets Lutheran in the day’s other two games.
This will mark New Palestine’s first-ever games at the historic Indiana State Fairgrounds venue, which was built in 1939 and re-opened in 2014 after a complete renovation. It currently serves as the home for IUPUI basketball and Indy Fuel hockey. It will be the first neutral-site scheduled game played by the Dragon boys since meeting Mooresville at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in 2015. It will be the first for the girls since 1991 – when the Dragons played Triton Central at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
