Girls Junior Varsity Golf, Girls Varsity Golf · Fox finishes 15th in state

New Palestine sophomore Annaliese Fox finished 15th in the state in the IHSAA girls golf State Finals held Saturday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.

Fox shot a two-round total of 157, 12 strokes behind state champion Kayla Benge of Plainfield.

After shooting an 80 to tie for 20th on Friday’s first day, Fox shot a five-over par 77 to finish the tournament with a 157. She was tied for the eighth-best score in Saturday’s second round. Ft. Wayne Dwenger’s Sarah Frazier, who also shot 157, had the second day’s best score with a 73.

Fox’s 157 was the best State Finals round posted by a New Palestine golfer in the program’s history.
