Boys Junior Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Tennis tames Tigers 5-0

The Dragons varsity tennis team defeated the visiting Triton Central Tigers 5-0 Thursday.
NP No. 1 singles player Matthew True was in top form against Tigers senior Jeff Miller winning 6-1, 6-0.
No. 2 singles Ben Blachly made few unforced errors when he beat Tigers sophomore Jordan Brandman 6-0, 6-0.
Carson Gavin played at No. 3 singles for the Dragons. He proved too strong for Blake Anderson, winning 6-0, 6-0.
NP dominated the doubles. No. 1 pairing of Nick Rusche and Colby Wagoner beating  Logan Buchanan and Reid Monhollen 6-2, 6-0 and the No. 2 team of David Hockett and Dane Reid  won 6-0, 6-0 against Tigers Ryan Shipley and Caleb Anderson.
The NP JV won 5-0 and improved to 13-1 for the season.
The Dragons varsity team moved to 13-4 for the season. They visit Mt. Vernon Tuesday for a Hoosier Heritage Conference clash and travel to New Castle Wednesday for a rescheduled match. A victory Tuesday would clinch at least a tie for the HHC title. Victories in both matches would clinch the title outright.
