Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · McMurray commits to Illinois Wesleyan


New Palestine High School senior Raegan McMurray has committed to play basketball at Illinois Wesleyan University.

McMurray is the second-leading scorer in NPHS history, tallying 1,081 career points. She had a tremendous senior year, averaging 18.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in leading the Dragons to a 17-7 record. She also got to the free throw line 190 times, hitting 75 percent.

Over her past two seasons, the Dragons went 33-14 and posted their best back-to-back seasons in more than 20 years.

She will be the fourth person from the recent era of New Palestine basketball to have played college basketball, joining Class of 2016 members Carly Hackler (Anderson), Natalie Kehrt (DePauw) and Haley Stratman (Taylor).

Illinois Wesleyan is an NCAA Div. III school that competes in the Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, one of the top leagues in the country.
