Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · McMurray, Harrison named All-HHC

New Palestine senior Raegan McMurray and sophomore Haley Harrison were named to the All-Hoosier Heritage Conference girls basketball team earlier this week.

McMurray graduates as the program’s second-leading career scorer. She averaged 18.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season, hitting 79 percent of her foul shots. She also averaged 2.0 assists per game. She was 151-of-190 from the line and among the state leaders in foul shooting. She graduates with 1,081 career points.

Harrison, a sophomore guard, was a solid all-around player. She totaled 8.1 points per game, hitting 36 percent of her 3-point shots and 79 percent from the foul line. She also led the Dragons with 2.1 assists per game and totaled 2.0 steals per game.

In addition, three Dragons were named All-HHC honorable mention. Sophomore Megan Jolly averaged 2.7 assists and 2.6 steals per game, in addition to 4.1 points and playing solid defense. Sophomore Leah Seib totaled 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Katie Herron averaged 4.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.

The Dragons went 17-7 this season and finished second in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. They also swept their three Hancock County foes to become the county champions.
