The New Palestine gymnastics team posted a triple-digit score to win the Rushville Invitational on Saturday. The Dragons scored 100.275 to win the eight-tem event.

The Dragons had the top two scores in the all-around, with Emily Heighway posting a 34.175 and Faith Land a 32.325. Taylor Brown was eighth with a score of 29.75.

On balance beam, the Dragons had three of the top four and five of the top nine scores. Grace Shanahan won with a score of 8.525. Heighway was third (8.45), Brown fourth (7.975), Alyssa Boothe sixth (7.525) and Land ninth (7.225).

On vault, Heighway was the champion with a score of 8.75. Land was third (8.6) and Brown tied for sixth (8.3).

Heighway was also the champion on floor exercise, where the Dragons had four of the top six finishers. Heighway posted a score of 8.875, with Land second (8.65). Alex Black was fourth (8.375) and Kinsey Dilley sixth (8.3).

On uneven bars, Heighway placed second with a score of 8.1. Land was third (7.85) and Shanahan fourth (7.825). Boothe also had a top-10 finish, placing 10th (6.55).

The Dragons are back in action Wednesday with a home meet against Muncie Central.
