The New Palestine girls swim team placed fourth in the Hoosier Heritage Conference meet, while the boys placed seventh.
The Dragon girls tallied 217 points to place in the upper division. Greenfield-Central (463.5) was the champion, ahead of Pendleton Heights (443), Yorktown (340), NPHS, Mt. Vernon (194), Delta (191), Shelbyville (138) and New Castle (116.5).
The Dragons had several top finishes, with two relays in the top four. The 200 free relay of Jessica Rogers, Anna Doolin, Courtnee Coffman and Maria Virt were third. Coffman, Hailee Holberton, Virt and Jessica Rogers were fourth in the 200 medley relay.
Coffman had a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Other top-eight finishers for the Dragons were eight-place finishers Rogers (100 freestyle), Holberton (100 breaststroke) and Karen Shriver (diving).
The Dragon boys tallied 171 points to place seventh. Greenfield-Central (527) was the champion, followed by Delta (324), Mt. Vernon (250), Pendleton Heights (236), Yorktown (227), Shelbyville (203), NPHS and New Castle (106).
Collin Stacey led the Dragons with a third-place finish at Thursday’s diving competition. Michael O’Leary had the top individual finish in the pool with a fifth-place 100 butterfly. Chase Crowder was ninth in the 100 breaststroke.
The swim teams next compete Thursday at home against Scecina and Rushville.
