The New Palestine swim teams both finished third Saturday at the East Central Relays.
The Dragon girls had three first-place finishes and tallied 53 points for their third-place finish.
The 100 freestyle relay of Courtnee Coffman, Jessica Rogers, Anna Doolin and Maria Virt posted a combined time of 52.34 to win. Rogers, Virt and Coffman won the 150 butterfly relay in 1:28.39. The Dragons also won the 400 free relay, with Coffman, Doolin, Virt and Rogers swimming in 4:02.39. NP had a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, with Doolin, Natalie Shanahan, Cassy Moorman and Hailee Holberton swimming 1:59.57.
East Central won with 74, Greenwood was second with 60. NP was three points ahead of fourth-place Connersville (50). Greensburg (47) and Lawrence Central (22) were fifth and sixth.
The Dragon boys had three second-place finishes and tied for third with 47 points. East Central (83) won the event, with Greenwood (60) finishing second. Connersville was also tied with NP in third. Greensburg (35) and Lawrence Central (28) were fifth and sixth.
Tyler Corey, Louis Holbrook, Michael O’Leary and Chase Crowder were second in the 200 free relay in 1:45.11. Sutton Biddle, Marlon Cabrera and Eli Branson were second in the 150 backstroke relay in 1:32.09, while Corey, Holbrook, Biddle and Nico Martin were second in the 400 free relay in 3:51.97. The 400 IM relay of Aaron Lambert, Rodney Gray and Conner Phipps was third in 5:16.73.
The Dragons next compete in a meet Saturday at Eastern Hancock, beginning at 10 a.m.
