The New Palestine girls swim team won eight events, including all three relays, to beat Mt. Vernon 101-85 Tuesday night at the NPHS natatorium.
The Dragon boys fell to the Marauders 98-82 in a close meet.
Courtnee Coffman, Anna Doolin, Maria Virt and Jessica Rogers were all quadruple-winners for the Dragons.
Doolin led the Dragons’ top two finishes, a 1-2-3 sweep of the 50 freestyle with Cassy Moorman and Natalie Shanahan, and a 1-2 finish in the 100 freestyle with Moorman. Virt won the 100 breaststroke, with Grace Mitchell placing third. Rogers won the 100 butterfly, while Coffman won the 200 freestyle.
The Dragons swept the relays. Coffman, Hailee Holberton, Virt and Rogers won the 200 medley relay to start the event. Coffman, Doolin, Virt and Rogers won the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Holberton was a double runner-up in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Karen Shriver was second in diving. Teagan Davis had a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle.
The Dragon boys won four events in their meet. Michael O’Leary won the 100 butterfly, Chase Crowder the 100 breaststroke and Colin Stacey took first in diving. The 400 free relay team of Sutton Biddle, Marlo Cabrera, Nico Martin and Evan Denger also won.
Cabrera and Crowder took second and third in the 200 IM. Biddle and Martin were seonc and third in the 200 freestyle. The 200 medley relay of Biddle, Crowder, O’Leary and Tyler Corey was second, as was the 200 free relay of Corey, Crowder, O’Leary and Louis Holbrook.
Finishing third for the Dragons were Martin in the 50 freestyle, Holbrook in the 200 freestyle, Corey in the 100 freestyle and Cabrera in the 100 backstroke.
The Dragon boys are now 1-2-1 on the year, while the girls are 4-4 in dual/tri meets.
The Dragons will next be in action Saturday at the East Central Relays.
