The New Palestine girls basketball team dropped a 51-50 decision to Franklin Central in the closing seconds Tuesday night at FC.

The host Flashes took the lead in the final 20 seconds of the fourth quarter and held on during the final possession.

The Dragons built a 40-26 lead through three quarters based in part on sophomore Haley Harrison’s 3-point shooting. She knocked down three 3-pointers in the third to help NP open up the lead. She finished with 15 points. Senior Raegan McMurray tallied 22 points to lead the Dragons. Sophomore Leah Seib tallied five points.

The Dragons are now 1-3 on the season. They are next in action Saturday at Scecina, with a 1 p.m. JV tipoff.
