Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · GBB posts 16th win


The New Palestine girls basketball team finished the regular season with a 16-6 record Wednesday, rallying to beat Lawrence Central 46-37.

The 16-win season marks the most regular season wins for the Dragons since the mid-1990s.

The Dragons trailed 19-14 after a quarter, but outscored the Bears 11-3 in the second quarter to take a three-point lead into halftime. NP then outscored LC 12-8 in the third quarter to build the lead to 37-30, and pulled away in the fourth.

Katlyn Keele and Raegan McMurray led the Dragons with 12 points each.

The Dragons next play Wednesday in the sectional at Center Grove against Whiteland. Tipoff will be 7:30 p.m.
