Multiple Teams · Dragons receive All-HHC honors

Several New Palestine athletes were recently voted to All-Hoosier Heritage Conference teams.

Boys soccer
Seniors Nick Martin, Ryan Miller and Erik Silvey were named to the All-HHC team, as well as juniors Kyle Doss and Caleb Eagleson. The Dragons tied Mt. Vernon for the HHC title. Juniors Mitchell Christopher and Spencer Corey were named honorable mention All-HHC. The Dragons finished 12-5-1 and 6-1 in HHC play.

Girls soccer
Five Dragons were named all-conference: seniors Katie Villiger and Gabbi Pierson, junior Meaghan Matus and freshmen Olivia Lambdin and Victoria Crowder. In addition, senior Molly Carpenter and juniors Katie Settergren and Danielle Matus were named honorable mention All-HHC. The Dragons went 14-4 and 6-1 in HHC play, and tied New Castle for the HHC championship. 

Sophomore Allison Dennemann was the Dragons’ representative on the All-HHC team, with junior Kara Morris and sophomore Mia Long being named honorable mention. The Dragons went 25-10 this season and 3-4 in HHC play, finishing fifth in one of the top volleyball leagues in the state. Six of the eight HHC teams finished with winning records, and five with at least 20 wins.

Boys tennis
Freshman Matthew True was named to the All-HHC singles team, as was the doubles pair of seniors Josh McKinney and Evan Rejer. The Dragons went 20-2-1 and were runners-up to perennial state power Delta in the conference. NP was one of three HHC teams to win a sectional title.
