The Dragon volleyball team dropped a three-set match to 3A No. 4 Delta on Tuesday.

The Dragons fell 25-16, 25-9, 25-17 to the Eagles. Mia Long and Sydney Robertson filled in at the team’s “quarterback” position for junior setter Kara Morris. Robertson had 13 assists to help pace the Dragon attack. Allison Dennemann had nine kills and 14 digs. Long had six kills and five assists.

“Mia and Sydney did a good job filling in,” Dragon coach Kelli Whitaker said. “We struggled to get in the groove but I’m proud of the girls for getting through the adversity we faced tonight. We are fired up and ready to play tomorrow at home vs Pike.”

The Dragons and Red Devils will meet at 5:30 p.m. with the JV/frosh start, to be followed by the varsity at about 6:45. The Dragon varsity is now 13-2 on the season and 1-1 in HHC play.

The Dragon JV fell 23-25, 25-15, 15-3.
